Dr. Thomas Kirmeier

Thomas Kirmeier studied Medicine at the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena (Germany) and Freie University of Berlin (Germany) and received his licence to practice medicine in 2003. From 2003 to 2016 he was working as physician and scientist at the Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry in Munich (Germany). During this time, he received experience in clinical care of psychiatric, neurological, and internal patients in daily routine and emergency medicine. Furthermore, he was championing scientific and clinical projects. In 2011 he became a specialist in Psychiatry and Psychotherapy. In 2014 he started as senior scientist at HMNC Brain Health GmbH and as Expert at ALSTIN (independent VC Fond). At HMNC he provided support in developing strategies for new disease areas, drug-repurposing, designing clinical development and biomarker plans, developing clinical protocols, interacting with health authorities, liaising with the external academic and research community, performing and overseeing due diligences, creation and maintenance of patent applications. At ALSTIN he was involved in technical due diligence processes, and strategic product development. Since 2018, he has been working at the Lead Discovery Center GmbH (LDC) in Dortmund (Germany) in the Business Development Team contributing as scientist and physician to in-licencing and out-licencing activities. Since 2019, he also supports wings4innovation GmbH as Translational Guide, particularly, with his clinical and translational expertise.
